Harman says there was a couple from Brazil at the same dinner with the priest. “The cast of characters includes a Native American pediatrician, a wealthy widow, and a traveling salesman.” “Of course he became part of the book, defrocked,” said Harman. This was the beginning of what would become “Blue Coyote Motel.” Harman said that night at dinner they saw a priest wearing a huge cross. “Wouldn’t it be really interesting if somebody put a drug in the air conditioner that would make everyone feel really, really good?” Harman asked her husband.
